Here is the top priced ram - purchased by Scott Halls of Woolmere Merino Stud, Currawong Pastoral Co., Grenfell. He paid $2600 for lot no. 4 which was sired by TP1174. The average price for the sale was $1034.

Tara Park Merino Stud’s Field Day & 10th Annual Stud Ewe Sale

Tara Park Merino Stud Boorowa had an outstanding on property ram auction on Monday 25 th September, selling 84 from 86 offered with a top of $6,000 and an average of $1372.

Dungaree Pastoral Co. Bibbenluke were keen to purchase the top priced ram, the large framed ram by TP8025, with a micron of 17.8, was exactly what they needed to further enhance their flock.

Repeat buyers from Vic. and NSW were quick to secure top sires with Steve Smith, Euroa Vic. buying 8 for an average of $1438, Stonehaven Past. Penshurst Vic. 6 for an average of $1975, MF & HL Russell, Caramut Vic. Purchasing 8 for an average of $1150. Neil Mattiske, Forbes was very pleased with the 9 rams he took home.

Local buyers included WL Mason & Son, Perebo Bros., PC McGrath & Son, Rag Ag Partnership, TR & SM McGrath & Derneveagh Past. Co. from Harden purchased 3 for an average $2800.

The Evans family were very pleased with the result, showing clients still have confidence in the merino industry despite the current tough conditions.
